That's 100% assuming they have an outside insurance company doing this of which I am nearly certain they do not.

"Your package is considered perishable and is at your risk; we aren't liable for it for any reason." -UPS

"Here's your money, since we're liable for losses incurred because of our service" -UPS

    Those two don't conflict? What?

I'm confused, would you rather you not be able to use UPS for such shipments? It's very possible that will come about ;)

They may very well, according to their Terms and Conditions. I mean, they don't specify when they have another company insure or when they insure it themselves, so it's a toss up, with the likelihood going to UPS. Those terms are for ground service, but if it's a possibility for ground service to be insured outside the company, it's likely possible for overnight as well.

Read the quote very carefully, especially the bold part. No conflict. The shipment wasn't damaged due to the perishable nature but rather their own internal error.

Or you could simply trust me when I tell you it's internal.

I ship hundreds of boxes weekly via them and FedEx. We have reps out here routinely, they're great, they bring pizza. FedEx should take a tip from them on that one

I'm fairly sure the two factors converged to leave some dead corals, rather than one or the other being the sole reason for the problem. I mean, paper doesn't lose what's printed on it due to it getting there a day late, and corals don't die if they make it overnight.

We still get better rates with FedEx and mainly use them.

One thing to note is, if you break your UPS computer, they bring pizza and fix it :p

Wahoo pizza for lunch tomorrow (kidding of course)
