Ya I was looking at calcium reactors like 5 minutes ago, and they are far more pricey than what i thought once you add up the regulator and the cylinder and all that its expensive and with a 80 gallon tank i don't think a two part would be a bad idea. Do you think the 500 dollar price tag on the clear for life tank is worth it? And what is a tough box? I'm guessing like a plastic container or box...

two part is good.... but with a larger tank like my 90 I noticed I was purchasing new chemicals every two months.... If you plan on being heavily stocked with sps you will notice the money you will be dropping on some chemicals.

Calcium reactor you will "save" money in the long run but initial cost is big.

Im currently searching for a reactor myself 8)

I don't know what the cut off is, but my first batch of BRS will last over a year. $70. But yes, media is cheaper than chemicals.

I use b-ionic two part system and my tank drinks it like water. every two months im at my lfs having a conversation on how im wasting money. Im not familiar with other two part systems always used esv. Especially since now I had my incident.... I dont trust my autodoser and a new auto doser isnt too far away from a reactor in cost since I now have a controller.

So.... Crazy reef love my situation is a bit different than yours. But a reactor is big $$$ of the bat especially without controller. But long run its not so much $$$

Ya I dont really know much about reactors or very well the components you need to run one. What brand reactor you look'n at... not a single reactor seems to fit my price range... i'm sixteen, i dont make much money. I have school, soccer, then job. If I decide to move to a bigger tank (hopefully) I will probably invest in a reactor.... It just depends if i have the money or not.

Im browsin right now.... need to get one with in the next few weeks. Dosing manually is not my cup of tea.

If reactor is outta the picture than do it manually. Youll have a more hands on approach to keeping your tank beautiful ;)

Or look for an auto doser which will be much cheaper than the reactors your lookin at. Dont go with esv autodoser. Its not that great. especially for $180
