    Kudos it can take a few days to a week before it kicks in but works great...I to own a unit.

    Agreed, there shouldn't be a reason to mod one of these.

    I have run these skimmers for years, and have always liked them. Often, if they keep overflowing, I empty whatever is in them in the sink. Doing this a few times is a pain, but it seems to help a bit (or maybe I am just imagining that it helps).

    +1....dump the cup in the sink it will pull the water clarifier out after afew days u should be ok...set the cup high and just keep dumping into the sink....otherwise ur just putting the clarifier backk into the tank
