Should I leave it off and try again in a week or just keep it running?

Most skimmer have a break in period of around 2-3 weeks and try adjusting it so it dosent pull skim out and just let it run for around a week or so and see if that helps or call the company and ask their opinion on the matter.

Is the water in the refugium too high for the skimmer? Happens to be sometimes.

Lower the amount of air intake. It should help.

Im not sure how, I did a mod on the intake section to lower the noise and it did help but its still loud. I found out that the skimmer isnt working properly because I recently used some water clarifier.

It's been a while since I've had a Remora. But I think on top of the intake tube there is a white plastic screw that adjusts air intake. Just turn it down and it should help with the water/wet skimming.
