I have had an umbrella leather for about a month now and its yet to extend its fingers. Is this a common thing or do I have to much light? Not enough? I am running to 96w pc's on 30 gallons

Hi, not sure what an umbrella leather is, but if it is anything like a Toadstool or the such, they can be finicky. They "shut down" to feed and/or shed. It may take some time to adjust to your tank. You don't give us any parameters so it could be that too along with flow and lighting. It could take some experimenting with placement.

1 months seems a long time to me, my leathers close for shin sheds maybe twice in 3 months , but they are closed for less than 1 week in both cases

does it open its polyps regular? and just stays a non descript flat shape

    can you post a picture

I believe the Umbrella and Toadstool are the same....I saw one in the LFS here not long ago...Some stores do not know what is what so they make up names as they go along....Not long ago they had a green bubble coral labeled a marble coral
