Me too. I got at least one tank that is a prime earthquake disaster waiting to happen.

why do they always go for the bleach? I met two other people who have had this happen to them. It's a a shame craziness isn't more obvious.

I am so glad I don't have to worry about quakes. That adds a whole other dynamic to stand making!

OK people. The profanity censor is there for a reason. Trying to "trick" it with creative spelling is not acceptable. Please try to keep it clean. Thanks.

Man after reading this I think I may need to rethink my strategy with my wife. I have been trying to get her into taking care of the tank so that she would be more apt to buy stuff for it. But I may need to go to the hands off policy. Losing my whole tank would be devastating and I don't even have that much. But I sure feel like it has been a lot of work.

something similiar happened to my friends tank, one of our friends was over there and thought the fish tank should smell better so added a bunch of concentrated lemon juice into the tank, everything died.

I even recently saw an example of a lfs turf war. In speaking with a local store, one that I don't frequent often, but had stopped in at. When I asked why the several hundred gallon display tank was empty he told me someone from a rival store poured ammonia directly into the tank and killed everything.

That's about at low as it gets in my mind.

not nearly as bad as the previous posts, but my old high school had a ~90 gallon tank. As a senior prank, they decided to put tons of red food coloring in the tank water. Not sure if it harmed the fish but the tank was red for months!
