I just found a pretty long scratch on the front of my 130d. I porbably did it with my magfloat, and I have since changed to a scraper. It looks pretty shallow and it is kind of hard to notice, but I want it gone. Is there any reef safe way to get rid of it?
    Thanks!

be careful with the scrapers i scratched my tank with one of the acrylic safe scrapers. they grab and hold on to sand since they are a softer plastic, and put good sized scratches in your tank :( i have found a credit card to work best.
sorry about the scratch. i know how you feel. it makes me sick when i look at the couple i put in my tank.
i have read there is a good scratch remover that marine depot sells it can be used in the water if needed.Lifegard Aquatics Acrylic Scratch Removal Kit 72000

not sure about glass :( sorry. I have just been researching acrylic and scratches, never looked into removing glass scratches, I'm thinking its probably much harder to do.

I found this link when reseaching the for the same thing..

    Link: Glass Scratches

I found many places on Ebay and sorts for cerium oxide powder wich jewlers use to polish things..Along with this guy used the same product to polish his tank.

I think for you i think its best to not look at it and hope it goes away.. lol.. After reading the artical it seems to be a real pain for a tank that is full of water..

    BEst of luck..

If I use the jewlers polish stuff how do I make sure none gets in the tank. Do I wash it off the glass after I use it or something? How does the whole process work?
    Thanks.

the link i posted above gives pretty good step by step what to do.. He drained tank down past the scratch then dried the tank where the exposed scratch is then used plastic food wrap on top of the water to act as a barrier so the compound doesnt get into the water. then used a power drill with buffer wheel and compound to polish the scratch out..

    Best of luck...

Thanks salsito. I think im going to leave it. It is very difficult to notice unless you know exactly where it is so for now i will not take any action. K+.
