    All you want to do is flow enough water through the media to keep in in a fluid floating state let it set and it will set up like steel and the reactor will be toasted , You want to run it 24/7 its will slowly remove and bind up the PO4's then juts let the ferric oxide ride until you notice PO4 starting to show up and at the first sign change the media . it last a long time. I run everything from skimmer to reactors on a single pump its a powerful one but I'm pushing water 45 ft.and up 18 ft.

    :eek::eek::eek: WOW :eek::eek::eek:

    Very good to know as I'm still designing the set up for the 125 gal ( and still learning with the 90 gal ) the tank will be inside the sump and fuge is going in garage ....and I am planning minimum 55 gal for each if not more ......learning alot here and making sure I have lots of room in Sump for additional equipment..... and the saga continues !! I lov this stuff !!

    If you have the room ? a 125 makes for a better set up then a 90 in fact a 75 is better then a 90 , A 90 is a good tank but the height is a killer I think. I myself ran one for many yrs and a 75 right next to it The 75 just got better lower water circulation and lighting with 2 175 M/H did a better job then the 80 did with 2 250's 175's on a 90 is very weak. the 125 gives the needed length and if its going to be a reef tank then tahs the more important feature needed . And the 125 is the same depth as a 75 or little shorter ? But the 125 is far better choice . I think and I base that on having ran all three sizes for corals and a reef system.. the 125 is still running :) The other 2 are gone..

    Thanks !!

    I am really excited about the 125 and going slow to do all my resesarch before I actually start setting it up....speaking of which....I decided to go ahead and purchase the little fishes ...one for the 90 and one for the 125.....and will be setting up the RO unit smaller unit ( 24 GPD ) despite my LFS recommendations of not using it ....can you tell me if this would be a good ATO for them ?? or would you recommend a different variety ??

    I would recommend a Tunze Osmolator cost a little more but worth every penny.IMO

    I've got the 2 little fishies po4 reactor on 2 of my tanks, does a great job, I just use a maxi-jet 600 to feed it

    I have the reactor, and would like to set it up off the back of the Fuge...is there any problems with cycling it back into the fuge?? or would this create an issue for the plant life ?

    Just for an FYI .....I had my tap water tested for Phosphates and not a trace ( deep well water ) but the phosphates were over 1.0..( one month old tank ) ..with the use of some liquid phosphate remover its back down to .02 or lower.....it took some research to locate where I was getting the added phosphates from and the LFS and I detemined it was from the SALT. I used Instant Ocean and we looked it up on the internet and found that that brand of salt was the highest in Phosphates...at like .08 where other brands were at .03...just and FYI

    Cheers ! :)
