I don't know much about turbos but my snails only move at night when the lights are off. Are they in the same spot you originally placed them?

    Yeah they are pretty much in the same spot! my paras are--ammonia 0mgl-nitrite 0mgl-nitrate 0mgl-ph 8.3-phosphate 0mgl-temp 26c. i use ro/water with a tds reading of 001.
Anything else i should be checking for?

Also, how big is your tank? 7 turbos is alot. There might not be enough "food" for them. When I buy turbos for my tank, I only get 1 or 2 max.

if the snail is secure, stuck to the rock then IMO it may eventually move about
if you attempt to pick it up and it comes away from the rock , then it is an ex turbo snail

did you acclimatise in the same way you would fish? they are sensitive to water quality changes/ differences , so slow acclimatisation is good for these as it is for fish

have you got any other inverts? if so and they are doing OK , good

but if you have no other inverts , are you sure the tank has never been treated with copper based meds?

can you vouch for the rock you have? could this have come from a tank that had copper in previously?

My turbo is boring too. Doesn't move much. I always think hes dead until I try to pull him off the rock and he sticks. i wouldn't worry about it too much. Just see if they are in a different spot in the morning. 7 turbos is a lot. Most only have 1 or 2 per system because they are so destructive.

I have about 4 turbos in my 75. They move rocks from time to time, and really mow down any algae in their path. Typically only move at night, unless they're feeling frisky and then may move during the day.

    Hey steve.
all the snails are secure on rock or glass. i did acclimatise them as i would fish, i.e. floated bag for a good 20 mins to half hour to match temp then dripped tank water slowly into bag to match ph before adding them to tank.
Ive had ten hermit crabs in for over a month and they all seem to be doing really good, i put empty shells in and they've all shifted home!
Tank has never been treated with any meds at all!
All my live rock was added at the same time, and was bought from "live rock uk" an online company that has a great reputation in the uk!

I also have a bangaii cardinal, 2 common clowns, and a small blue regal tang and they are all doing great.
my parameters are all looking great!
Im just a bit paranoid cos the snails dont move much.
is seven snails too much? as you know i have the red sea max 130 litre tank with 25 kg of live rock.

My guess is that they dont have much to consume. How old did you say your system was?
