I do agree the vortechs can be noisey but the wavebox seems like it would take up a lot of room and be kind of an eye sore?

It's not as bad as you would think. On the 75 it fit behind the rock work. On the 40 it fit right next to the overflow and could barely even be seen. On any tank big enough to justify it, like the 150, it looks small.

Nice job on the review and "Thank You" for posting it!

Michael, so reading your review suggests I could replace my Vortech's with the Tunze Wavebox 6215 is that correct? I currently have three MP40's in my mixed reef with three large and flow loving anemones. My tank dimensions are 62x26x24. I have 5 Ai sol blue’s on this tank and was thinking about adding another MP40 for more flow.

Per your suggestion above I would really like to stick the Vortech’s on the back wall (or remove them all together) and hide the Tunze in the corner and just enjoy my tank.

So, again, does the 6215 move enough water in your opinion to replace a few Vortech’s?

I think it could replace a couple of your MP40s. By Tunzes advice though, you will want some powerheads still in the tank. I like your idea of putting the Vortechs on the back wall. I've actually converted all of my tanks to this now with Vortechs hidden in the rocks on the back.

My overflows aren't in the corner... I have been thinking of ways to add more flow to my tank. I want to use my twin mp60s for reefcrest while not losing my standing wave in my 210g.

Do you think I could mount one of these in my tank and it still work?

Mike you tested the 6215 which is rated for 52-317gal and the 6206 is rated for 39-158 gal. do you think you could have gone to the 6206 on your 150gal tank? I am looking at the tunze 6206 on my 125 and want to make sure the 6206 could handle it..

    thanks!

I think that would work really well. These go great with vortechs. Another thing you could do is set the vortechs to run in night mode during the day and set up the photo sensor so the tunze only runs during the day. Than you get two completely different types of high power flow in your tank.
