Hello, This looks like a great site. To bad this wasn't around 20 years ago. Anyways looking at a 110 gallon 48x18x30 or a 125 gallon 72x18x22 what I am putting the tank is still out for debate leaning towards live rock with some corals and cool stuff and a few fish. looking for a lot of help. Thanks in advance.

Welcome. You found a great site with freindly people who know what they are doing. I am in the learning phase and without the help of people here I would have made some terrible mistakes.

My piece of advise is go as big as you can. Don't be like me. I stated with a 34 then 6-7 months later went to a 55 and another 6 months went to a 180. Learned alot along the way but wished I started with the 180.

    Good luck and again welcome.

I guess what I am asking because the tanks are close in size as far as gallons go its the length verse the height. from I have been reading shallow would be better for coral but you cant scape the tank as high. Just looking for more input than mine and the lfs ownwers. Thanks again.

I'd prefer a shallower tank, but I'm short LOL.

Welcome back to the hobby & welcome to 3reef!

Welcome to 3reef. I would suggest going with the shorter tank because it makes maintenance easier and makes gas exchange better. It also gives you more equipment choices. Use a sump and refugium to increase your system gallon totals. Buy or make the largest of each you can.
