So i've seen alot of articles/threads regarding not doing frequent water changes on a very lightly bioloaded/fed tank, and they do very well in params and conditions without waterchanges in more than a month.

My tank is 3 months old, I have not changed any water in 2 weeks and i'm starting to get pink coralline growing on glass and TONs of copepods in a matter of day and night! What's the secret behind this?

My tank is very very lightly stocked/fed and very properly cycled, for 2 months, lots of patience..

EDIT: There was no sign of ANY copepods or coralline whatsoever before i skipped the waterchanges for two weeks, they both suddenly appeared in one night!

It's been my experience that each tank has it's own "personality". I have a JBJ Nano that does best with less frequent water changes...but like your's it has a very light bioload.

I'd say keep it reasonable and let your tank tell you what it needs.

With a good fuge and skimmer a tank could go along time with out a pwc! The issue is the trace elements. Corals use up these trace elements and the only way to replenish them is a pwc. But with a FO system as long as your ammo, trite and trate are 0 there's no reason to do a pwc. But with a reef tank I'd recomend ATLEAST bimonthly pwc. But like said above every tank is different...
