So I've had a pink tail that died on me recently, when I examined the body, I noticed that the head and stomach was a bit sunken in even though it was eating very well.
Now I have a Clown Trigger that is showing the same signs of sunken in body. I feed vigorously but I am not seeing any permanent weight gain or growth. What could be causing this? Cyanide poisoning maybe? Or a lack of it's natural diet?

What are you feeding it ? A variety of foods ?
Also are you doing many smaller feeds or 1 larger feed ?

if the fish is eating normally but it is still emaciated then that could be a sign of tuberculosis or a internal infection.

and like hender said.. you also need to make sure to give them a variety of foods so that they can get all the proteins they need.

Yes, spectrum small and large fish formula, Tetra pond sticks and freeze dried krill.
I feed multiple times a day. On average 4 times per day.

    Any other food suggestions?

Could it be an internal parasite?

I have had lot's of Trigger expirience and when mine, especially Clown Triggers gets slim, I feed them a piece of Table Shrimp (Lot's of Protein). Maybe ounce a week. Works for me. Good Luck.

I have a pink tail that had the "pinched belly" look when I first got her. Since then, I have been feeding her PE Mysis (very high in crude protien) once to twice a week. She has since filled out rather nicely. She still gets fed a variety a food everyday. Her favorites are squid and nori. Plus I think she appreciates the larger meaty pieces.

And I feed once a day.

I originally thought it's an internal parasite but I'm not sure. would it be wise to treat the entire tank with parazi? Or should I isolate?

I Will certainly try this starting tomorrow and check the progress.

I believe that I do have some frozen squid somewhere in the freezer. I will actually give the nori a try as well.
Mine only seems to like tetra pond sticks::)

Your fish could thrive on NLS alone. With the varied food you are giving them, it's most likely not their diet. When I treated my tank for ich with Cupramine I also dosed Prazi, some of the fish that seemed perfectly healthy expelled some serious parasites. My 6" Goldheart had passed a tapeworm the length of his body. Before the treatment, some of the triggers would skip a meal here and there, I didn't think anything of it. This was last year some time, and their is a huge difference in their growth and appetite now. I learned that any trigger that is not eating well and or not putting on weight has some definite problems.
