In that pic see thoes to Fin's or Spikes it has on top and bottom, when stressed and in a hole thoes will pop up and down lockin it in the hole so the predator fish wont be able to pull it out.....

    Good luck with him ..!!!

Oh yea, I picked that up in my research weeks ago when i became interested in triggers, thats where the name "triggerfish" comes from. the think is that the hole was too small for him to fit his top "trigger" in so it looked like just his skull was jammed in there

As I said earlier, they like a lot of cover i.e. caves, ledges etc. He may go there again at times to rest or sleep. I would add more rock but that will give you a mini cycle and perhaps you just want things to settle down for now. one more tid bit........the "trigger" on top is used as a primary weapon when a larger predator gulps him into its' mouth. He puts the "trigger" up when being swallowed by the larger fish/predator and it jabs into the roof of the predators mouth and it will promptly spit it out.
