Hello. I'm about to go to the lfs to pick up water for my tank. Do you generally have to supply jugs or does
The lfs do that? Help I'm leaving soon!!!!

Usually if they sell the water they have 5 gallon jugs you can purchase from them. If not you can go to lowes and buy 5 gallon buckets with lids for pretty cheap

You will prolly need your own jugs. You can call and see if they have buckets they sell or buy some from home depot. I use frosting buckets from the bakery at the grocery store I work at. Just make sure the containers are clean.

I bought my own RO/DI unit. I recommend that in the long run just for ease of use, but to some that isnt an option. As far as my water & back up water. I use a lowe's 5 gal bucket with a hole in the lid for around the house & I use a couple of those 5 gal water cooler jugs for my back up water.

Most of the people I see at the LFS buying water actually use 5 gallon gas cans. Just makes sure they have never had gas in them and rinse them before use. You can also use water jugs from a water cooler as Khowst suggested. If they don't have a lid you can use a piece of plastic and a rubber band to keep the water from sloshing out. I guess the main benefit to using these types of containers as opposed to buckets is the spouts make it easier to dump them out .;)

I'm going to go to target and see if I can find some sort of jug. There's no way I'm paying 12$ for a 5 gallon jug!!!

Just go to lowes or home depot. I don't really know what you would find at Target. I guess it is time to get creative.
