For splashing a transparent acrylic sheet could be installed on the track, bellow the lights to act as a shield.

As far as evaporation goes.... I'm not really sure. if its the lights u got from.the "Spread the word out" contest, you don't want to box them in any way as they will overheat. Unless u install a fan blowing the hot air out of the box u use on each light.

I have my led about 9 inches abouve my 20 gallon and have seen no creep or ill effects so IME as long as you have them about 6-9 inches above the tank you should be fine.

I know Seano haha I was at work posting from my phone and It double posted it... my bad guys, Oh but yeah I don't think it will really be a problem I think I'm just going to wrap it in black electrical tape once I get the LED's where I want them, that way everything will be protected from any random splashes

What you have to be careful about is the traces that the fixtures connect to on the tracking is made of copper. I would recommend coating the traces and the connections on the fixtures with dielectrical grease.

That will prevent corrosion and possible toxins dripping into your tank over time.
