    yah the vermited snail can irritate corals i have a huge one on some fiji branch thats casts out a net and reals it in

    Hello, yes my two Toadstools both have those. I recently had a LFS friend come over for a consultation about my tank and they had them out and he was intrigued and said that some develop those. They are akin to a sweeper tentacle and are used for defense. I believe this because I never saw them come out of my large Toadstool until I added the second one. It is their way of letting the other know "hey, this is my territory".

    NANO reefer thats excatly what it looks like one night when the polyps were closed up I noticed they werent on the head they were on the underside of the head

    some type of hydroid, i had them on my GSP colony and never saw one polyp retract, heck had them all over the tank and did not see any problems that i knew of. Its the colonial hydroids that will get your corals, i had to redo my tank just recently to get rid of them, they sting anything and multiply faster than aiptasia IMO.

    yeah they tend to land on the polyps on the head and it does nothing they dont retract so i guess there not bad

    it might be going through a growth spurt mine get dark in color shrivel up and get kind of webby before they expand again and sometimes they loose fingers and they grow into new corals
