To check on my toadstool I'm testing for sal, Amm, nitrate, nitrite, ph, phos, and cal. Is there any other tests that are worth performing to keep my new friend in check!

It's also not come out much and is shedding, is this just settling in?

    Cheers!

Dont worry, often when any leather coral is added to a new system they molt. This is perfectly fine and it can take anywhere from one to two weeks.
Good luck with your new coral!

Magnesium and alkalinity are important but not as much with soft corals. Also make sure it gets enough flow to blow shedding tissue off. They like a pretty strong current.Good luck.8)

One more question, I'm worrying a little as the coral has not yet extended its polyps, it has been a week now, can it take longer then a week to settle in?

yes they can take up to a month - my toadstool and finger leather some times close up for three days (all parms on point) last time my toadstool was closed for 3 weeks. My finger was once closed for a month (had me worried LOL) you will see a film build up (you can blow it off if needed) then it will start coming out. Medium flow.
    should run carbon too

Sorry guys, I have just noticed this on my coral, can anyone tell me what it is. It had a slight blemish on it when I got it but it's looks worse all if a sudden?

Nothing has bothered it in my tank as far as I know....?
