I like crazy flow – I use a Danner 4500 gph return after head pressure its probably pushing 2,000 and I have 3 Echotechs pushing 3,000 gph. That’s 11,000 gph of water movement in a 180.

Too much? Well, maybe on paper – but all tanks are different. Rock formation and pump placement alters it all, so this is a case of one size certainly will never fit all. My bubble coral has a nice quiet spot on the bottom of my reef where he hardly wiggles from the breeze. Rule of thumb helps you get an idea of where to start – than just break the rules and have some fun.

I try to keep my tank at 80. I will be setting up a gravity fed ATO to solve the problem of evaporation.
