    Hi, I'm Chris Hansen, why don't you have a seat over there.

    :D Kidding.

    On to serious matters :angry::angry::angry::angry:

    So I have a 4 striped damsel in my tank, he's been in there from the start, and is quite annoying now, very hostile, harrasing everyone in the tank. I want him out.

    Problem is catching him.

    I saw the fish trap, but I don't have any of that plastic grate.

    I saw mention of "hook and line". I don't know how that's done.

    I tried the "net is your friend" wherein I leave the net in there, feed close to it, feed with it. He's NOT falling for that crap.

    I tried Siphoning him out. He's hiding deep below the rocks, and that's a big hassle.

    At this point I really do NOT want to take my rocks out. I have a ton of them, finally got them set up in a way I like. They have a ton of stuff growing on them (featherdusters etc).

    Any suggestions?

    I just went threw this the other day lol...I also did not have egg crate..What I did was I picked one of those little plastic containers for say carrying little mice/hamsters...It has to have the clear flip top lid..then follow the instructions on how to attach line.I did not use the tube to blow food into,I just tied a piece of shrimp to the bottom with fishing line..

    I used two nets to catch a nice size, quick, sea going wrasse. I put one net in front of the escape/ exit way and scared it around a rock w/the other and it went straight in the net. you have to be quick.

    Well. Saturday afternoon I got sick of the crap, and I ended up ripping up the whole tank to get to that idiotic fish. Man, what a HASSLE. I've seen my tank change over the last month, it finally look stabilized. I felt like I got thrown back a month and change just aggitating the entire tank over this stupid $6 fish. I'm grateful for what he endured during my cycle period, but JEEZE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I got it out, I still felt very bad flushing him, as irritated as I was, as annoyed as I was.

    Looks like I have another thread to refer to when people don't believe me about adding damsels to cycle your tank with.

    Sorry to hear about your troubles. Many of us, including myself, have been there! When I got mine out I took it to the LFS and they wouldn't give me anything for it. They didn't want it! So I just gave it to them for free.
