    Hey guys,

It's been awhile since I've posted, too busy. Anyway, It's time for me to replace my bulbs, it's been 6 months, and I think it's a good excuse to upgrade. At least thats what I'm going to try and convince the wife with anyway. ::) :whip: Right now I'm running 4 22" 65w 10k 50/50 Actinic compact flourescents in a 48" hood over my 24" deep FOWL tank. Tank is a total of 110 gallons and I'm using a sump/refuge skimmer filter system. I'd like to start getting into corals and head towards a full reef setup. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you've got the money to spend, I'd invest in some Metal Halide lighting. A less expensive option would be t5-t6 lighting , but, may limit options in the future. Once you start adding corals you are gonna want lighting that isn't going to limit your options. I keep mainly softies, but, have the option if I want to add corals that are more light demanding.

Catalina aquarium has 250w MH pendant lights on sale for $150 each. Would 2 of those be enough light? I think I read on here that CrabbyJim has a 120 tank and that's what he is using. Is there an advantage one over the other to pendant versus strip lights?
