I've had my tank running for exactly one year now and I think I'm ready to start adding better corals. It's a 24 gallon with about 20 pounds of live rock and seems pretty stable. I normally test it once a week but have been testing it everynight about an hour before the moon lights come on and keeping a log and it seems fine. I do a pwc every Saturday morning as well. Right now all I have in the tank is some zoos, a purple mushroom, and some xenias. There's two ocellaris clownfish, one hermit crab, and two turbo snails. There's the best looking torch coral I've seen at a local fish store and have been wanting to purchase it... Is my setup overstocked as it is or can I pick some more things up? I like those reef tanks that any place you look there's life and color...

You should be fine getting the torch I would think. The only thing you really have to worry about with corals is them warring with each other, and you don't have anything in there right now that would war with the torch. Do you test for calcium?

I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef,

I would go ahead and get it, sounds like you have been very patient and the tank is established. Just check parameters first. As far as being overstocked, you can add more corals as they do not contribute to the bio-load the same why fish and inverts can.

    Welcome to 3reef.
Without seeing a pic of your tank it is hard to tell if you are overstocked with coral. I would think you can add the torch with no problem.

I got my tank as an early valentines day present February 1 last year and have patiently waited to add things to the tank. I do test for calcium, earlier today it was at around 480 ppm. I would post a picture but I don't even own a computer ha. I use my iPhone for everything. Any tips on what I can stock with... I live the torch and got a spot pick out for it away from everything as I'm told they aren't friendly. I have four 22 inch T5s, 2 10000k, 2 actinic. I was told I could keep just about anything with having 4 t5s on 24 gallon tank

Calcium sounds fine for your torch. Go for it!
