    bought the sand today, hasnt been rinsed, so said elegance hasnt been propped. thats tomorrows job.

    Do you rinse your sand? I've always used Tangster's advice and don't. He says the dust is the same stuff that they sell to foster coralline growth.

    Why not take a plastic cup, fill with wet sand. . . .

    And put a used, trash CD on top.

    Cover the hole with your finger, invert, and place on the bottom of the tank. Slide the CD off sideways, lift the cup off, and there's your mound of sand. Nice and clean and hardly any dust. :)

    Stick your elegance in and have done with it man!
