I have almost everything in the 40 gal breeder now, I need to add more to my CUC, I have about 30 snails and hermits together. 1 giant turbo, and fire shrimp, So I was thinking about getting some other type of shrimp and some type of crab maybe a sally lightfoot.. how many cleaner shrimp should I have in the 40 gal?

Sally lightfoot is a cool crab but too many times I have seen them go after my fish. I really think they will kill any fish they can catch.

I had one but it was dumb and got stuck in the innerwall of the filter in my biocube haha there are pics in one of my albums. it was so dumb I never got it out and it died... I really like them and I have tons of rock with lots of little caves.. I would hate to worry about my clown goby.... :(

At one time I had 4 lightfoot crabs in my 150 with well over 100lbs of rock. I found my Hippo Tang pulling one apart one day, I can only assume the crab picked a fight and lost lol. Shortly after that I started removing them. 2 i got out and the 3rd I killed while trying to catch him. Oh well. They are really cool looking but i dont trust them.
I have 5 peppermint shrimp in the tank now and a couple cleaners. They are cool.
Emerald crabs are nice though. Prob not bad idea for u.

I have had my Sally for about 4 months now, no problems as of yet. I do target feed him though. He is trained enough now to crawl over and wil reach inside the baster & snag some mysis when I point it towards him. I also target him with a piece of shrimp when I feed my meat corals.

I have 2 emeralds as well & they do a good job of taking care of things also. Funniest thing is my pistol/goby got a divorce & the pistol moved out. Well now one of the emeralds is living in the whole with my goby. Yes seriously! Been together for about 2 weeks now. He comes out about 15 minutes after feeding and cleans the area around the hole & goes back just inside the hole.
