Tide Simulator?

    This isn't exactly what you need but it could be a model.

    Pump 2 container could be anything, 5 gallon buck, tote what ever. Pump 1 in tank and where the plants are would be your tide pool.


    The problem I see with pumps pumping from one tank then back is if you have a failure on one side you have a flood.

    The way for the ebb/flow is you fill one container and the water drains back slowly.

    I think I see what you mean. It sounds like you are just suggesting that the "tide" pump be in the display instead of my reserve/reservoir ?

    Your link was very helpful...2 separate pumps.

    Oh I guess I wouldn't need an extra tank...works for me! :D For some reason I was thinking a couldn't use my sump. Duh-uh! :p::) That makes it simpler.

    So...I would need my normal return pump for the 6.5g. Then I would need 2 other pumps to safely create the tide effect? :)

    Just read how that hydroponic ebb and flow system works and you should see what I mean.

    It's more work and one extra container but it will raise and lower your water level in the pool like you want safely.
