That is what I ended up getting. Got the dual floats and valve. Worth every penny.

Make sure to get all your plumbing parts you need. My local guys had nothing to match.

The guy that runs it is really nice, was very quick to reply back to my (stupid) questions.

I use a reef fanatic ATO, set up witha TOM aqualifter pump. I have it configured so that the first switch triggers the pump to flow, and the second is a high limit in the sump as well to turn the pump off if for some reason the first switch does not shut off after it has replenished the water.

Now the TOM aqualifter is great, because even if it runs dry, it won't get damaged. If you set up the ato to have a float switch in the top off container to protect the top off pump, you have no safety back up to tell the pump to shut off.

I imagine the JBJ ATO is similar to the reef fanatic, but as will most JBJ electronic devices, you can't be sure of their quality. I won't risk a flood or my tanks inhabitant's for a few dollars difference.

Now some folks will say you need a tunze ATO, and IMHO, those are overpriced at 200 dollars and still not engineered to be 100% fail safe.

You can add an extra fail safe to any ATO by putting it on a timer to allow only a few minutes at most of pumping time.

I like the JBJ auto topoff. It has a fail safe feature that you can use to keep from flooding the sump/tank. You can set it up one of two ways.

If you have a reservoir: Set it up on mode a with sensor 1 in the sump at the water level and sensor two in the reservoir above the pump. The pump plugs into the controller (purchased separately) and I use a Maxi-jet 600.

If you are using your RO/DI unit, you can plug the solenoid into the controller and put the Sensor 1 at the min level in the sump and Sensor 2 at the max level. This is mode B.

I love it and haven't had a "fail" yet.
