Hey guys, those of you who have used IO RC, can you tell me what the calcium and other elements levels are in this salt after mixing with RO/DI water? I'm trying to decide between IO RC and Seachem's Reef....I"ve been using plain IO without any problems, but I want to try the Reef Crystals now that my bucket is almost empty.

So please, if you have used it and tested it, let me know what the levels are.

On a side question, how accurate is a refractometer compared to a hydrometer? I'm also thinking about getting one (refracto). Thanks and peace!

I use REEF CRYSTALS and I'm very happy with it. If nobody can help you with answering your question, I'll be doing a water change sometime this weekend and will let you know.

we just had a discussion about this yesterday... I've always heard a refractometer is well worth the money... one of kogle's buddies had a hydrometer and thought his water was doing good at 1.023... ogle brought over his ref. and measured it at 1.032:( that was enough to talk me into a refractometer!

Article a bit dated, so may have been improvements. Would hope so.

Fyi...I am sticking with plain old IO...

Damn nice Geek!!! how can I give you 1000000000 karma for this?...screw it, I'll give you what I'm allowed and buy you a coke. ;D

Pretty mixed results though....the red sea coral pro seems pretty good...I'm wondering though, the IO, second left, is it the RC kind? I wonder.
