:laughing0 No, just a kitchen bowl. The shadow makes it look bigger than it really is. I would have a real problem if I could fill a 5 gallon bucket with bubble algae.

They sure look like Mitrax crabs. However, if they were eating your corals instead of the bubble algae, they might have been mislabeled by the collector. BTW, not all emerald (mithrax) crabs will eat bubble algae but they don't usually eat corals.

OK, I was scared for a minute there LOL.

And yes, those are mithrax crabs, Mithrax ruber. We have one red & 2 green, but no bubble algae. My boyfriend just liked them & brought them home one day LOL.

Will burning it really work? Have you done this? If so I will go to the store and get a small torch and try this. Burnt coral line wont affect the tank at all?

I heard the best thing to do for GhA I don't know about the bubble algae is to get a lawnmower blenny and 2 emerald crabs.. In addition to that phosband reactor may help, or perhaps something as simple as placing a media bag to lower the phosphates.. Chemi pure elite works! also consider how long your light is staying on ideally should be 8-10 hours. If the bulb is old it could also be the cause, I change mine yearly!
Good luck, I was battling GHA for a while it's not an easy thing to get rid of once it takes over your tank!

Did you get any bigger than this?

If you want to find any good in the bad, be thankful that you had ventricaria ventricosa instead of valonia;)

Whoa that's one big mama jama. Looks like a water balloon. Thankfully, nothing came out of my tank quote that big. In fact, it really puts things into perspective.

Is that a bubble you pulled out of your tank, mission? If so I would nominate you the leading authority of fighting this stuff.

Botryocladia skottsbergii and it is a pain! You look like you are fighting the fight mission keep up the work. Sad new I just saw some in my other tank! Took the rock out and its drying I am not risking another tank to this!
