achilles tang is my personal fav, Sailfins are cool too but be aware pretty much all tangs get really big even a 90g can't sustain them their entire lives and a sailfin gets HUGE after a few years

Good point Iraf. I don't think you guys realize just how big a sailfin tang gets. They get massive! The LFS near me has one that they've had for over a year because no one's tank is big enough for it. When he fans out he is 12 inches tall, and he is 9 inches long. This thing is a beast. It makes a 180 gallon look small.

Go for the smaller tangs like a tomini tang, a chevron tang (beware this isn't a beginner tang), or better yet, one of your best bets is probably a gold rim. My advice would be to make sure you have a cleaner shrimp or two no matter what type of tangs you get. They help to fight ich.

Do not get: purple, yellow, hippo, sailfin, powder anything (blue or brown), naso unless you know that you can move them to an extremely large tank later on (180 gal minimum on everything but the hippo, which can probably do a 135 minimum since it doesn't get quite as tall)

Good luck, but please don't succumb to a bad purchase because there is a sale.;)

look dude. I have a 5 inch tennant tang in my 95 wavefront that i've had for nearly a year and guess what. he's still 5 inches. Tangs don't grow that fast and your tank is big enough for 1 tang. I wouldn't put anymore than 1 in that tank though because of food competition.

I would keep a max of 2 tangs that look totally different. Like a sailfin and a yellow tang. I havent looked into sailfin tangs so I dont know much about them
