Damn Matt, that means you are part of the family. I still wish I had my old shovelhead, think I would just put it in the family room and dust it every week. :p Always wanted a 59 Panhead, but I can never get rid of my Electra Glide. 8)
Man I bet that sounded good with that Thunder Header on there......

Ha I know what you mean. Hard mounted shovels sure vibrated like hell and required wrenching everything down regularly. I can't tell you how many side view mirrors I lost on the highway until I got a clue about blue loctite. Girls liked it though. :)

I always wanted an 'Easy Rider' Panhead too. That would be soo cool.

Yes it did. It was a rush. I miss that bike. That pic was taken on it's last ride. I put a couple hundred miles on it that day and was having a blast. Too much fun. I was really pushing it through the foothills going 90-100 for a long time with full gear and the girl on the back. 20 miles from home one of pushrods dislodged and the oil flew out and I lost compression.

I ended up melting one of my heads pretty good.

Shortly after that the 'dotbomb' happened and I lost my job. So I couldn't afford to fix it. I ended up selling it to pay some bills. I didn't have much choice but I sure miss that bike.

If I get another one I would like to get an FLHT Electric Glide Standard myself. It's motorcycle heaven where I live. I can ride 20 minutes north and be in the wilderness along the coast and be on roads where I find myself not changing a gear for an hour. It's incredible.

In 2004 be and my brother rode out to LA and got a Pepsi and a Payday Bar. We then got on Pacific Coast Highway and went through Big Sur and accross the Golden Gate then headed up to Mt. Hood in Oregon and on into Washington. I know what you mean by it being a nice place to ride. We just took the long way around to Sturgis that year. ;) About 6,400 miles in 11 days. I could live on that HOG, if I could just get someone to make my morgage and feed the kids. :p
This year we road to Nova Scotia and stopped by Roger and Annicks house on the way. Nova Scotia was nice but not near as good as the Rocky Mountians.
