The EcoSmart RF Module upgrade is an easy affair. For those of you who took the cheap route like me and bought the non-wireless Vortech for your nano aquarium, it's time to get off the dime. Face it, you know the other side of your aquarium has been screaming for another Vortech. Now you know that true nutrient export mode can only be achieved by two Vortechs in wireless harmony. So read the install ahead, swallow your pride and buy the RF Module from EcoTech. Because what we've got here is a failure to communicate. :)

Unplug controller, unscrew the back and flip over this board.

The female connectors for the EcoSmart RF Module are here.

Connect RF module as shown in 1st pic above so that module overlaps main board.

After seating board, screwing the back plate back on and powering up - you should see the 'W' light up. You are now wireless! Congratulations! Now never buy a non-wireless version again! :)

Thanks for the write up, I also went the cheap route and am upgrading mine to wireless.

Wish I would have read this before I purchased mine.

Yeah, it's really easy! Great guide. I was nervous when I did it, but all in all it's a few screws and done.

Agreed, I ended up taking mine apart because I couldn't fit it through the Biocube stand holes.

Can't wait to upgrade my Apex and Mp10

    Now that is funny...

Didn't know that the option was upgradable. Great to know for those that are missing out.
