Looks very nice. One huge derasa clam you have there. How old is your tank and what type of lighting?

    TIA

yea he is a growing boy and moves around sometimes, just to mess with the two clowns that are hosting him- ;D The plate coral isnt to happy about his shooting water and sand at him either

The tank is only about 8 mos old, but everything in it came out of my 3+ year old 165 gallon main system, including the water. It has done very well. I had to move most of my corals due to a few fish that were causing me some troubles- hence the 29.

I have 5 lights on this 29 gallon, in the center is a viper hqi 150 @ 14k, then on both sides are 12 watt 50/50's I bought off of ebay for 20 dollars, then hanging above the viper on a braket I made I have two 465nm LED's.

I havent built the hood yet, as I am still working on the acrylic tank lid, just tough to find the time to finish projects lately.

The tank has 2 percula clowns, a yellow blennie, and a dragon gobie.

These pics were taken yesterday morning, everyone wasn't fully "awake" yet- I should post a few pic's when the tank is "awake".

    Thank you for the comments.

Yes I always do that as well, and take pictures before everything is fully open.

I have been wondering about the viper clamp on lighting. I have a JBJ 28 gal and with the lid and the 150 w HQI. Been having trouble with my ballast and considered getting the viper unit as a replacement. But I think I will go with the 250 watts, if I do.

yea, the 250 is pretty nice, even has LED's and a fan- but the heat they produce- ugg. I have my Viper attached to the CPR BakPak2 skimmer that hangs on the back of the tank- works pretty good.

But ya know, if I were you I would really look into the new reef LED's that Marineland has just come out with- they are very nice- and will save you a ton of money.

They make 3 versions now- single bright, double bright and reef bright- I have seen all three lights in action, the reef bright is pretty nice, which is what I may go to myself. Halides are cool looking and produce a lot of light- along with heat and high energy consumption- LED will very soon replace all incandecents I think.

got any pics of your 28?

No forgot the dimensions. And those are duncans.

The clowns got moxie, anything goes in the tank and it is like a great white shark attack.

    :)

    RLMAO you meanie.

I should loan you my Blue velvet- he would "school" them in appropriate manners really quick.

Opps btw, there is a reason I asked the dimensions of your tank- hi-power LED, I have a line of a group buy- 60 watts equals 250 watts of halides.
