i do not have an RO/DI and I need to fix that. I get my "RO/DI" from a LFS and I put the trust in its clear of TDS but nope. Two days ago bam, cyano. From where? No idea, though maybe the water I get from the shop.. Sure enough I went back, got a bucket, dropped a TDS meter in it.... and there it is. If you are gonna have a shop, do it right. Argh.

I feel for ya, that same reason is why I had to buy an RO/DI. LFS had 10+ Nitrate in their "newly" made water.

That sucks, man. If your a regular there (or even if your not I guess) you should tell 'em they need to look into their RODI unit and maybe make some changes. Before I had my RODI unit and therefor was getting my water from the LFS they would test the water for TDS or anything else if you asked them to. My water from them once had a TDS reading of 003 and they gave me the 10g of water for free.. Point of the story it if they want your business again they will probably give you a (small) credit or something so its worth telling the LFS..

My bill only went up about 10 dollars but my daughter moved in around the same time so I split the difference.

Unfortunately, it dosn't seem that most are trustworthy enough to get RO/DI from. As they say, if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself .

I didn't trust the LFS water for this very reason. So instead I used distilled water from the grocery store. The distilled water worked well. It was the same price as the LFS water and it's available at the local grocery.
