this pretty much formed over night, I'm guessing it's just the standard brown algae? I was wondering if there are any ways to get rid of it because it looks awful, or do I just have to let my CUC eventually consume it all?

    unfortunately a normal process. -_-
I have 5 or 6 scarlet/stripped hermits(med.) and a few snails that really don't help the glass. I'm still adding to the CUC I just had to wait for the cycle to finish.

yea that compleatly normal a good way to combat that is to reduce the light cycle by about 4+ hours or turn them off for a few days. you can also wait it out they will go away as the cycle finishes.

    Good luck to ya ;D
