I would say that 78 degrees give or take a couple of degrees. Right now my tank is about 79 during the day and 76ish at night.

Here's my problem. My sump is sealed of in the stand. So I have a eshaust fan that pulls out heat. I eliminated my refugium due to light in stand causing more problems than it was worth.. So taking the lights out my tank still runs about 80.5.. Is this safe??? Thats with the exhaust fan of because its loud and getting on my nerves. It gets loud because salt builds up on the shroud and the blades nik it just enough to make annoying noise. I get tired of taking the fan off and cleaning it every 2 days. THERE lies the problem.. I guess I'm just lazy. With the fan on it runs at about 78.3 canstant.....My stand is sealed to deter my 2 and 4 year old from throwing something in the sump

I think you answered your question, buddy. My temp is always at 78-79 b/c I have a double fan running between the lights and the top of the tank. I dont use a heater and my sump is under the tank inside the cabinet. The return pump is inside the sump and my house a/c is at 75 degrees. I used to use a more powerful single fan before( between the lights and the top of tank) and my temp was much lower at 75-76. So I changed the single fan to a less powerful double fan and my temp went up just alittle. Its all about playing around with the fans. Luna

thanks luna. I hear ya, i need to find a quieter fan. I use a heavy radio shack fan. Or find a way to slow down the salt build up....

I run mine on the hot side 80-82 but I am going to add fans on the top for my t5s so that will probably alleviate the problem. The problem with having temp too high is because theres less oxygen I think. 78-79 I think is good.
