Temp Fluctuating

    It will probably strengthen the corals to have the temp fluc a couple degrees. But that strength is probably caused by stress. Who knows....what does the ocean do? Stay the exact same temp all day long and all year? No it doesn't. The great barrier fluctuates 20+ degrees F throughout the year

    74F-94F in Summer
    58F-80F in Winter

    80-81 is fine... my tank runs steady in the 82-84 degree range. Actual ocean temps in reefs range from the mid 70s up to 90, so really anywhere in that range is fine.

    Some corals do better in higher temps, some do better in lower temps. So we take the middle....77-82ish. Seems to work just fine. As long as your swings are only a couple degrees throughout the day, shouldn't be a problem.
