I have a small problem with my temp..

When i keep my heater plugged in, the tank gets up to 81.5 degrees, when i unplugg it the lowest it gets it about 74.8 degrees..and when lights come on it gets about to 75.7, is that too low? and the problem with heater is that it wont shut off when the tank hits 72 degrees.

nice. i actually don't even have my heaters plugged in. they were not very dependable either. my lights and pumps tend to keep my temp up. Of course i live in South Texas where keeping the tank from overheating is the challenge.

Get a heater that adjusts the temperature.

i believe that 75 is listed at the low end of acceptable. However, i wouldn't be comfortable there and would want it a little higher. i shoot for between 78 and 80.
