I have T5 lighting but havent overdriven the bulbs.
The icecap 660 will automatically do it for you. They claim will raise output of
54watt to somewhere between 80-85 watts, while using less power.Alot of people
say you need to keep lights cool with a fan since, the bulbs run hotter. So cant tell you if they last longer or not but,are supposed to be considerably brighter.Especially if you have individual reflectors.
By the way can only use up to 4 bulbs on a 660.Will need another ballast for the other two bulbs maybe the icecap 430 or another 660 and split them.FWIW

    Hope this helps

the directions on my work horse ballast are right on the ballast.the ice cap should have directions on it as well.so far most people say over driving will decrease bulb life to less than a yr. and increase a 54watt to around 80

on the tek light, the ballast is inside, do u have to remove to the original ballast and install it in? or is it a plug and play?
