so this is probably a stupid question but i'm gonna be buying a phosban reactor and i don't really understand what i need. the reactor and media i get but i need something that can be hooked up to a 1/2" tubing to get to the reactor. so i just need a pump with a 1/2" outlet, is that right? and is it necessary to get a ball joint to control the flow if your pump has flow control?
sorry about the dumb question. i just wanted to be sure.

I bought mine at bulkreefsupply.com... you don't need to buy phosoban brand name or media... You "really" probably just want a media reactor.... The BRS one that I bought is two reactors in series... one for Granular Ferric Oxide (Phosoban) and the other for Carbon... but you can put whatever media you choose in either.

As far as the 1/2 connection... I use a valve off my return pump. Return pump 1" outlet goes into a manifold with a series of 5, 1" ball valves. I have the outlet of each ball valve stepped down to 1/2" using PVC reducers. I run one the valves to my media reactor, one to a 10 gallon tank I have slaved off my main DT, 2 going to the DT and one spare...

    Hope that helps.

+1 thats the one I have, it actually comes with a small pump, tubing , and the required connectors including a small ball valve.
