I look in my tank and my LTA is bunched up and upon closer examination I notice a tear in the base. It's been perfectly healthy until now and I'm guessing the tear is the reason it's withdrawn. I tried to feed it raw shrimp and it's wanting to eat but the Tomato Clown kept going in and pulling the food away from the anemone. After warding the clown away with my Kent sea squirt feeder I finally got the injured guy to eat. I have never had to deal with a tear before. Do they generally heal OK or is there a very good chance it will wither and die? It has been doing very well in the tank and very comfortable with the params so it's not like I am introducing it for the first time. Any advice on treatments to help the healing process? I don't know how it happened but the Clown has been acting very aggressively toward it lately.

Lately it's been crazy I have a Fire clown that hosts a huge Sebae (the guy in the avatar) and the Tomato hosts the LTA. They are both determined to keep the raw shrimp away from the anems. I have to put some mysis or brine shrimp to distract the long enough for the anems to feed. The clowns are pretty particular about keeping the anems clean, maybe they think the shrimp has to go too.

Here it is this morning. My lights are not on yet so what you see is under the moonlight. It still has good color and texture but very contracted.

i have a lta. but dont look nothing like yours though. however. I have noticed a long tear in the one tentilce.. i did nothing and it seemed to heal on its own.. i have a few questions on mine i dont want tosteal your thread. i think if you give it time it will heal on its own... after all we do right. i would keep a closer eye on it see if the tear opens more and even maybe reduce light time so its not all stretched out giving the (compacted) version a lil more time to heal. but i do think it will heal on its own

Mine is about 8" opened up. It is green with a bit of purple in there. I love them. I also have a sebae which is about 12" opened up. They are certainly a wonderful creature, they offer quite a challenge but it's all worth it. I just checked my photos and I don't have one of my LTA when it was opened up.
