Ya beat the leaks and learned along the way. I can be hard headed at times and like to do what I "think" is right. My uncle is a plumber so I called him and he gave me some good ideas. Pump has been going since 7am with no leaks. Tank is starting to clear from the sand so tomorrow is the big day!!!!! For tonight it is green beer, Irish whiskey and a drink called the car bomb.

This weekend (Friday night) is the anual St. Patty's blow out on the block. This nieghborhood knows how to party. The last New Years party (2 years ago) was quite a show. We did steak and crab legs for 135 people. We will have a great time. Hopefully somebody will take pics to remind everybody what happened. LOL. Should be about 100+ people, bagpipers the whole 9 yards. I will post some pics when my hangover is done. I usually do pretty good taking pics up until 9pm then I put my drinkin face on because the kids go home.

I will get pics of the move up tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

    Tony

What return pump were you using before it took a dump? The MAG 24 that came with the tank?

Well that sucks. Got any idea what happened to it?

How much of that equipment you scored in the original post is still cluttering your garage? lol

Coming along nicely Tbelt. It's a lot of work and thinking to pull this off. I've just read the whole thread and I can certainly understand what it takes. Keep it up your almost there.;)

Nothing cluttering the garage. It is in the trash. 1 return pump, 1 ballast and 1 skimmer pump. Nothing major or above expected with the exception of the return pump. I figure it went bad from being out of the water after being in it for so long. Small problem to put this tank together.

Thanks for the encouragement.(spelled right??) Yes I am almost there. Tank cleared nicely tonight. Almost started to make the swap. Decided it was too late and would wait until the morning.

Started to take test readings and the biggest, if not only, difference is no nitrates in the new tank. All other parameters are close to the same. Temp, Salt, Ammonia, Nitrites, Phoaphate, calcium, magnesium, PH and temp are very close to identical. Should make the move pretty easy. Time will tell.

Going to catch some ZZZZZZ's from the green beer and start fresh in the AM.

Well the sand is in and the water cleared now it is going to be a big big big day. It is time to start maving stuff into the tank.

Your kid gives a great perspective on the size of a 180. I have a question: Did you have to drill the holes for the overflows?
