SO the Result of the GP visit.
Septic Joint. Right pointer finger, Doc said i needed to immobilize it, so that it can be protected and to save the joint cartilage and bone from further infection.
Doc said he was worried it might progress to a mastoid bone infection since it had been 2 weeks since it had happened, so put me on HEAVY dosage of antibiotics. Over 1500 milligrams a day.
2 days in on the antibiotics and swelling is way down,(my finger no longer looks like a sausage) and pain is more tolerable.
Thanks to my 3reefers for spotting the situation and helping me out!
    Damn Bristleworms!!

ouch. glad its doing better. I've been hit by bristle worms more than I could count and those little boogers do work on fingers. Worse case I ever had was a swollen joint for a few a week. Antibiotics seemed to help me as well.

Wow, that's no joke. Todd Sails called it.
    Glad you're feeling better.

I've read (think in one of my coral mags) to immediately soak the area where a bristle worm tags you in 100% white vinegar. Like when we clean our equipment, the vinegar dissolves the bristles which are made of calcium.

Makes me very curious if the vinegar also will have an antibacterial effect when treated this early... :sick2:
