Tank Update with Pics!

How is your rabbitfish doing with the cleaner shrimp? The reason i ask is I have a foxface and was wondering how he would turn out with the addition of a cleaner shrimp. I have a book that says rabbitfish can be destructive in pecking at the inverts. True? False?

 

I had a FF with a cleaner for 2 yrs and never had a problem. Now a Eng. Goby is a different story. Luna

 

Have never heard that about the rabbitfish. Definately have been known to nip at corals but they are like an angel in the aspect that you kinda roll the dice when you get one and hope he doesnt develop a taste for Zoa's. My cleaner shrimp even cleans him once and a while and he never seems to mind the shrimp at all. Thanks for the identification Luna will look into it.

 

Here is a video of one doing the color-change act. They can go from looking like the one in my pic to this coloration when they get stressed in a second. It's really cool to see! I am assuming it is an attempt to blend into the surrounding rock.

Update time. Just a full tank shot I know the algae is a bit distracting but I am winning I swear it! Since the last time on, foxface decides to pick at my paly's (back to the store) added a remora skimmer, (kinda ugly but maybe someday to be moved underneath) lots of coral growth, (AOG paly's on the left, duncans in the middle, frogspawn in the right) This pic shows all my livestock, (tomato clown, chromis, royal gramma, solar fairy wrasse, and cleaner shrimp. I know its not the best pic but it was the only one I could get with all the fish in it!
