I am starting a 40 gallon reef. I have had a reef before but it was set up by someone else.

I want to put the tank in the corner of a room each of the walls that make the corner have windows on them. I have a few feet of wall before the windows begin on both sides.

Will the indirect sunlight in the room have a adverse effect on the lighting cycle ?

That brings me to my second question

I would like to view the tank until midnight with the lights on then go into a lunar mode or whatever is best.

The tank would then " wake " when the real sun comes up.

Is there healthy light cycle for the schedule I would like to maintain ?

I ordered a light.... will be here soon

I have 72 W LED with blue and white bulbs,

I also ordered a LED lunar fixture

Hopefully someone can help me sync all this together.

    Thanks in Advance

Well the sun rises in the east, is there a wall that would be less direct or a drape you could keep closed ? If it's on the east wall only the corner would get direct light. A bit of light shouldn't wake the fish but it will play a roll in the Algae in the aquarium. I only have Clowns now and after I turn the lights on it takes a few for them to start moving around.
9- 12 hrs of light is usually fine, but you will know by the amount of algae that develops after your cycle is complete and all levels stabilize. My setup has lights on for 11hrs. No direct sun though. Hope this helps?

I use window tinting on the sides. There's a clear type that offers UV protection.

    Thanks for the info

There is no direct sun light, just ambient light from the 2 windows.

Anyone know where to get that UV window tint,
