    Have to agree, more than fair price. My advice, find the best and use them. Don't skimp on maintainance.

    good price but you would get much better results and enjoyment with a biweekly service.

    Thanks for all the replies.

    One thing this company will do is come do the maintenance on weekends or evenings.

    It also includes:

    - remove any algae growth
    - water quality testing
    - water changes
    - siphon sand and gravel
    - ensure everything is working properly
    - I need to check if they will replace media

    I might it once just to see if it is something I think is worth it on a monthly basis.

    Really the idea of expensive/not expensive is relative to cost of living in your area.

    Looking at your tank inhabitants, and the algae issues that you've had, I would honestly run your lights at a minimum, and don't worry so much about nitrates. If you're lights are on when you're not home, all you are doing is helping the algae grow. A reef tank is a different story, and the price you were quoted sounds fair, but not for a FOWLR.
