All - I've had my 125g FOLR tank for about 18 months now & feel I don't have the time do do the proper maintenance to keep the tank in pristine condition.

I'm talked to a lfs about maintenance contract where they clean your tank & do a water change once a month for $100.

Anyone ever did or considered anything like this? If so, what has your experience been?

    Thanks.

I'll do it for 95$, lol, but 100 bucks for something at takes about 30 minutes tops to do?! Maybe worth it if it was only like 35 bucks, 20 for salt and water, and 15 for their effort. Maybe I'm just crazy, but that seems insaine. Even if you can afford it, doesn't mean that you should, millionaires didn't become millionaires by blown their money ya know?

That seems like a lot, I have a guy near me that charges 20.00 per visit and he uses his own salt and water.

doesnt seem too crazy. may be a little out of whack, but you gotta think about what goes into it. water, salt, the time to mix it and drive to your place, clean the tank, do the water change, clean up, drive back to shop, unpack....youget the drift. if you do some research i think youll find this is a bit high, but nothing insane.

Where I use to live it was $1 a gallon with a 75 gallon minumum. I have no idea what the cost is here is Cali, but our prices are typical unrealistic anyways.

Yep, $1 per gallon is typical around here as well, so $100 for a 125g is actually a discount price.

Never used an outside maintenance service myself, but a friend of mine does and, in his own words, he is "more than satisfied".

$100 minimum call for our maintenance guys. I use them at the dealership and when I go on vacation to check my tank. Good guys, well worth the peace of mind. They charge $100 to come and do a 20 gallon water change then they charge something like the cost of products +15% for any additions etc. Like the cost of GFO/carbon w/e.. usually it ends up around $120-$150. Seems more than fair to me.
