You ever have days where your tank doesn't look that great? Everything checks out, no changes, just looks ugh.

When that happens to me it's usually time to clean the glass.

My belief is that because the tank as a whole is a living entity it goes through chemical and bilogical changes and as the light and other things interact it can at times look "drab" one day and "sparkling" pure the next.

I also have days where some corals look great while others do not.

try a water change, syphoning the sand, and cleaning the glass. that always works for me...

Agreed that all of the above will help the overall look. I think that just like you or I, we have our good days and bad days. Same goes with live stock in an aquarium.

i see what your saying..i dont think my tank every has days it doesnt look good..and also once you start packing more and more corals you will see that some corals just close up..like my acans lords will be super puffy and then my hammers might be sucked in or my torch might be all the way extended and my green toadstool may have like one polyp or no polyps...but i like seeing these things..and there are some days when everything is open as far as they can reach..

now if your tank is just dirty then thats different..but i never have to clean my tank, just wipe off the front glass every week or so..my CUC cleans all the sand and rock
