The HOB filter does help - but the white film I can see, tells me its not adequate

if you angle the maxijet upwards, so the flow, travels across the tops of those softies and causes a ripple on the water surface - it may help in my opinion

your right about dead clams not using much calcium though LOL?

need to get my prescription for my glasses renewed

Oh I understand. I had to leave my house today because have classes tomorrow but everything looked a bit better when I left. The Kenya tree isn't open yet but I'm hoping that it will eventually.

I moved the powerhead in a way that it would provide more surface tension. I also asked my brother to buy another one next week when they go for more food or something. I'm hoping that helps.
Im also planning on getting a better filter.

My parents are moving in 4 months so What do you guys recommend? ( I am planning the move of my tanks with my lfs so now is the time for improvement plans)..

hammers and frogspawns usually tells water params not right. I strongly suspect that either ca or alk is off...

If your kenya doesn't make it I will give you one the size a volley ball and I'm sure I may have some power heads somewhere in the shed I could hook you up with free if they havent been sitting to long with out use. I also have a fluval 305 I could part with.

I bet the others are right, in that it's allelopathy. Other leathers tend to feel it worse, as well as sensitive corals. My friend had a huge leather tank that was fine for the longest time, then they all started fighting. carbon and water changes worked well. Get rid of any shed you see... you don't want that landing on other corals.

Did you say your one of them fell? It could be pissed off and is sending off extra exudate that some of the other corals wouldn't appreciate.

I would step up the water changes and beef up the premium carbon as was previously recommended.

Yeah the Kenya tree is the one that fell over... So that one is the one pissed off.
( along with some others but more moderately lol)
I'm definitely getting some water changes done, and hopefully it be better.

I agree with chemical warfare as well. The big 3 could also be out of wack causing some of the corals to be a little stressed and in return, releasing more toxins which leads to allelopathy. JM2C Good Luck and hope it turns around!
