    Good evening. I am cycling my tank at the present and I have a question regarding the shrimp I dropped in 3 days ago. Am I supposed to leave it in until it dissipates completely or am I supposed to take it out. I have seen both train of thoughts on this forum so I thought I would ask.

    Just leave it until you have 0 ammonia after you see ammonia of a decent level.

    Thanks for the info. I was just wondering because I am starting to get brown circles on my sand and rock.

    thats normal. the first year of a reef will go through algae stages..
