I think that's what he did. I was thinking about doing the same.

Just "T" it off but run the pump so it goes to the tank & the bucket. This way the pump won't run dry & you won't need to prime it to start the cycle in the tank again.

Good idea but what I did is my tank has two predrilled holes on the bottom, one is for my overflow which goes to the sump and the other goes down to a valve then I put a 90 on and ran it around my cabinet and then put another valve on to adjust water flow. When I do the water changes I turn the pumps off and then turn on the valves on which pour water into the buckets... Now I need a something to fill the tAnk back up, that Would be nice.

haha. I thought of doing it the way you did. But then it occurred to me that that would obstruct water low so I rethought it out & came up with this idea. I have not done it yet though. I still need to buy my return pump.

Yeah that is a good idea but I never had any problems today when I changed out 20gallons it took literally 10mins to drain and refill. I just turn the pumps back on and start pouring new water into the sump. It's definitely a lot easier.

Thanks for all the good comments!
